The Epstein Theatre, recently reopened after a two-year closure, is set to host the world premiere of a new Beatles musical titled 'Shake It Up Baby!' from September 26 to October 11, 2025.

To celebrate its reopening, the theatre will hold a Gala Night on September 19, 2025, coinciding with Brian Epstein's birthday, featuring local acts and celebrities.

Director Stephen Fletcher expressed his enthusiasm for revitalizing the Epstein Theatre, which has a historical connection to his family, and bringing the story of The Beatles to life with vibrant live music.

The cast will consist of Liverpool-based actors and musicians, all performing live and infused with local humor.

Tickets for the show are priced from £22.50 and are currently on sale.

Written by Liverpool playwright Ian Salmon and directed by Fletcher, the musical features Andrew Schofield as Allan Williams, the Beatles' first manager.

The narrative explores The Beatles' transformative years in Hamburg during the early 1960s, detailing their journey from obscurity to becoming a legendary band.

The story highlights the band's evolution from 'probably the worst band in town' to 'the best band on the planet' during their time in Hamburg's clubs.

Themes of ambition, love, and the challenges faced during their rise to fame are central to the musical's narrative.

The production features classic American rock 'n' roll songs performed at iconic venues like the Indra, Kaiserkeller, and the Star Club in Hamburg, as well as the Cavern and Litherland Town Hall in Liverpool.

The creative team includes Olivier Award-nominated George Francis as musical arranger and director, with sound design by Kate Harvey and lighting by Ciaran Cunningham.

Lead producer Scott Millaney, co-founder of MGMM Studios, brings extensive experience from producing music videos for major artists.
