Studio Seaview Opens with John Krasinski in 'Angry Alan', Redefines Off-Broadway Scene
June 13, 2025
The Tony Kiser Theater has been rebranded as Studio Seaview, marking a new chapter for Off-Broadway productions.
The venue officially opened with the premiere of 'Angry Alan', a solo play starring John Krasinski, on June 11, 2025.
Directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold, 'Angry Alan' will run at Studio Seaview until August 3, 2025.
Written by Penelope Skinner and co-created by Don Mackay, the play follows Roger, a man facing personal challenges who seeks clarity from an online personality.
Roger navigates a difficult period in his life, dealing with the aftermath of a divorce and a demotion.
Critics have offered mixed reviews, praising Krasinski's performance while discussing the play's themes of male toxicity and online culture.
The opening night featured a red carpet event attended by notable stars including Laura Linney, Naomi Watts, and Billy Crudup.
The celebration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Carla Hoke-Miller from the Mayor's office of media and entertainment.
The production's design team includes scenic designer dots, costume designer Qween Jean, and lighting designer Isabella Byrd.
Production stage management is overseen by John C. Moore, with general management by Hudson Theatrical Associates and Seaview.
Prior to its Off-Broadway debut, 'Angry Alan' premiered at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The transformation of the venue into Studio Seaview was announced earlier in 2025 by the production company Seaview.
