The West End production of Shakespeare's Othello, directed by Tony Award-winner Tom Morris, features a stellar cast including David Harewood reprising his role as Othello, alongside Toby Jones as Iago and Caitlin FitzGerald as Desdemona.

Harewood previously played Othello at the National Theatre in 1997, and this production marks his return to the role.

This staging is part of a series of contemporary Shakespeare adaptations by Tom Morris planned for the West End over the next five years, aiming to bring fresh interpretations to classic plays.

The creative team supporting this modern Shakespearean interpretation includes designers for costumes, lighting, sound, movement, as well as specialists in casting, production management, and dramaturgy.

Performances are scheduled at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London from October 23, 2025, to January 17, 2026, with a press night on November 4, 2025, and additional tickets released due to high demand.

The production explores themes of manipulation, jealousy, and toxic masculinity, emphasizing darker aspects of power, rage, and desire, with a contemporary twist and music by PJ Harvey.

Directed by Tom Morris, the show features a modern interpretation of the classic play, enhanced by a soundtrack from PJ Harvey.

The cast also includes Vinette Robinson as Emilia, Luke Treadaway as Cassio, and several other actors filling various roles and understudies, ensuring a robust ensemble.
