Richard Burrows, 80, a longtime UK fugitive, was arrested at Heathrow for historic child sex offenses after 27 years evading law enforcement.

He faces charges including two counts of serious sexual assault and 11 counts of indecent assault, some allegedly at a Cheshire children's home and others in the West Midlands during the 1960s and 1970s.

Burrows had been on the run since skipping a 1997 court appearance, prompting a decades-long manhunt by Cheshire police.

The arrest was a joint effort by the National Crime Agency and Cheshire Police, highlighting their dedication to pursuing justice despite the passage of time.

He is due to appear at Chester Crown Court, moving the case forward and potentially offering resolution to the victims.
