Alana Armstrong, a 25-year-old mother from Tibshelf, tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run incident while riding an e-bike on Batley Lane, Pleasley, on November 26, 2024.

The collision occurred around 8 PM when a dark-colored 4x4, identified as a Land Rover Discovery, struck her e-bike, causing her to fall off.

Ms. Armstrong was pronounced dead at the scene, while a male rider in his 20s, who was with her, sustained serious injuries that required hospitalization.

Derbyshire Police have confirmed the identity of the deceased and have expressed condolences to her family, who are being supported by specialist officers.

Chief Superintendent Dave Kirby highlighted the tragic impact of the incident on Armstrong's six-year-old son, emphasizing the community's commitment to finding those responsible.

In connection with the investigation, two individuals, a man and a woman in their 30s from Skegby, were arrested but later released without charge.

Police are actively searching for the driver of the Land Rover, who is believed to have been accompanied by a woman in the passenger seat.

To gather evidence, detectives are conducting extensive inquiries, including house-to-house visits and reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
