Recent footage has emerged showing French police taking action against migrant boats attempting to cross the English Channel, marking a significant development in the ongoing migration crisis.

Mark White, the Home and Security Editor for GB News, highlighted the footage, which depicts French police using pepper spray to deter migrants trying to board small boats.

However, White noted that this police intervention was limited to a specific location, Gravelines Beach near Dunkirk.

The British Government has been anticipating a stronger response from French authorities regarding small boat crossings, and this action may indicate that such a response is finally materializing.

Despite the police action, it is estimated that over 1,000 migrants successfully crossed into the UK on the same day, potentially setting a record for the year.
