Lancashire Police are investigating a disturbing incident involving a naked man wearing a black mask and trainers who was filmed walking through residential streets in Lytham.

The footage, captured around 12:50 AM on July 18, 2025, shows the man prowling past homes, alarming local residents.

Initially, the incident went unreported to the police and only came to their attention after the video circulated widely on social media.

Despite some claims suggesting the incident occurred later in July, police confirmed that the video was indeed filmed earlier in the month.

The man was seen near Westby Street, Cleveland Road, and Bannister Street, prompting police inquiries in those areas.

Lancashire Police's Fylde Rural Task Force is actively conducting inquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage and performing house-to-house investigations.

Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information or footage to contact the police.

This incident is reminiscent of a similar case in Somerset in 2022, where a man in a gimp suit had previously disturbed residents.

The Somerset case involved Joshua Hunt, known as the 'Somerset Gimp', who terrorized female drivers while dressed in a latex suit.

Hunt was ultimately convicted of causing intentional harassment, claiming in court that he did not intend to scare anyone.

The identity of the 'gimp man' from the Somerset case remains unknown, raising concerns about a potential repeat of such behavior in Lancashire.

Doorbell footage from the area captured the man shortly after midnight, prompting frightened residents to alert the authorities.
