Santa Pod Raceway opens its 60th-anniversary season with a blockbuster two-race weekend, kicking off with THE DOORSLAMMERS and a prize purse of £100,000.

The weekend weaves together the Carl Cox Motorsport Series and The Main Event, underscoring Santa Pod’s international drag racing footprint and the 60th-anniversary celebrations.

THE DOORSLAMMERS opening event features full-bodied, doors-ventured cars racing for the £100,000 prize.

Other classes on the card include Top Methanol, Pro Stock, nitro Funny Cars, Jet Cars, and the FIM European Championship motorcycles, with Rikard Gustafsson aiming to defend Europe’s quickest bike title at about 260 mph.

Pro Modified boasts 20 entries vying for 16 eliminator spots, as Jere Rantaniemi pursues FIA crowns and Andres Arnover holds the 2025 British and European Pro Mod records.

The Carl Cox Motorsport Series features a 5.90-second index format for Pro Mod and plans a substitute driver for Cox during his music commitments, with Cox racing in the July and September events.

Tickets and paddock access are available online, with box-office contact for advance bookings and pit access.

Top Fuel women headline the event, led by Susanne Callin and Jndia Erbacher, with elapsed times around 3.8 seconds and speeds near 320 mph on the 1,000-foot course.

Drag Illustrated teams will provide a broader media feature, covering news, interviews, and visuals from these events.

The Main Event serves as the opening round of the FIA/FIM European Drag Racing Championship, hosting over 300 teams from 18 countries.

The Main Event lineup spans Top Fuel Dragsters, bikes, and Junior Dragsters, reflecting a diverse field and international participation.

The extended Bank Holiday weekend runs two back-to-back race meetings: the Carl Cox Motorsport Series on Thursday and Friday, followed by The Main Event from Friday through Monday.
