A Met Police operation in central London seized 90 vehicles worth over £8 million over the weekend, including a rare £3.7 million Ferrari Monza SP2 that had been in the UK for less than a day.

Officials said this was the highest number and value of vehicle seizures in the five-year history of the crackdown, signaling a major enforcement push against uninsured, antisocial, and dangerous driving.

The Ferrari was uninsured, its driver held only a provisional license, and the car had been in the vehicle for under 30 minutes when stopped.

Special Chief Inspector Geoff Tatman stressed ongoing efforts to curb dangerous driving and protect road safety, while Angus Eaton of the Motor Insurers’ Bureau warned motorists about the importance of proper insurance coverage.

The operation also flagged other enforcement outcomes, including potential immigration offences and an incident involving harassment or intimidation during stops.

Officials said the operation aimed to protect public safety and reduce nuisance from reckless driving, noting arrests related to related criminal activity found during stops, such as handling stolen goods, money laundering, and drug offenses.

Westminster Council emphasized zero-tolerance enforcement and collaboration with the Met to deter anti-social driving and safeguard residents and businesses.
