Prime Minister Andy Burnham and his wife attended a church service at Crathie Kirk in Scotland with the King and Queen, a parish frequently visited by the royal family when staying at Balmoral.

The King and Queen had just come from the Braemar Gathering in the Highlands, where thousands of spectators greeted them the day prior.

The service was described as moving and wonderful by attendee Gillian Garner, who noted a focus on kindness and helping the vulnerable.

Separately, the Bayeux Tapestry will be publicly viewable from September 10 after its loan to Britain for the exhibit.
