October 26, 2026
Abdul Rahman Saleh received seven years and six months in prison, while Patrick Loughnane was sentenced to eight years and six months for conspiracy to sell or transfer prohibited firearms.
A Metropolitan Police investigation dismantled a London-based network that converted blank-firing weapons into working firearms and supplied them across the capital.
The inquiry began in May 2024 after intelligence linked Razzaq to firearms sales; Razzaq was arrested in September 2024.
Tammy Rigg was sentenced to five years and three months after admitting to possessing a prohibited firearm and ammunition without a certificate.
Thomas McKenna, who ran the conversion workshop, received 16 years in February after admitting firearms offences, making explosives, and possessing terrorist material; his partner Tina Smith was given six years for related offences.
Forensic work tied Razzaq to a firearm recovered near Notting Hill Carnival in August 2024 and to McKenna’s conversion workshop in Buckles Lane, South Ockendon.
Two customers, Allan Crosby and Ryan Smith, were sentenced to 10 years and seven years and six months respectively for possessing a converted pistol and modified ammunition.
A November 2024 search recovered more than 100 items, including machinery and tools for converting blank-firing weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices, and extremist material.
Faisal Razzaq was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of eight years for leading the operation and related offences, including conspiracy to sell or transfer prohibited firearms; he had previously been jailed for the manslaughter of PC Sharon Beshenivsky.
Brothers Ricky and Robert Dorey were convicted and given 10 years and eight years, respectively, for conspiracy to sell or transfer prohibited firearms.
Detective Inspector Andy Durham of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said dismantling the network prevented illegal firearms from reaching the public and that the sentences close the case.
