Somak Sarkar, an ex-employee of the Minnesota Timberwolves, has been charged with felony third-degree burglary for stealing 'strategic NBA information'.

He has been placed on supervised release with specific restrictions, including no contact with the executive involved and a ban from Timberwolves property.

Sarkar was terminated in February for taking a hard drive with over 5,000 files of personal and team data, which he claims was accidental.

His legal representation hints at additional undisclosed aspects of the case.

Sarkar's previous NBA experience includes roles with the New York Knicks and New Orleans Pelicans before joining the Timberwolves in 2021.

His next court appearance is scheduled for May 16, and the Houston Rockets currently have no intention to conduct their own investigation into Sarkar's actions.
