Nationwide Recall: Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Popular Dietary Supplements Sold Online and In-Stores
November 14, 2025
A broad recall targets several dietary supplements linked to an ongoing FDA investigation of a salmonella outbreak, including Food To Live Organic Moringa Leaf Powder, Food To Live Organic Supergreens Powder Mix in multiple bag sizes, Organic Moringa Leaf Powder sold on Africa Imports’ site after June 5, and all Members Mark Super Greens powder, regardless of lot or best-by date.
Consumers should discard any affected products or return them to retailers for a full refund as the FDA probes the contamination source and whether additional products are affected.
The FDA-linked outbreak has affected multiple retailers nationwide, with Sam’s Club among the retailers and online platforms like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and eBay involved in the distribution.
CDC notes underreporting, estimating about 29 undetected infections for every confirmed case.
Health experts warn that salmonella can cause serious complications in rare cases, including bloodstream infections, infected aneurysms, endocarditis, and arthritis.
As of the latest update, 11 people across seven states—Florida, Kansas, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia—have fallen ill, with three hospitalizations.
Investigators have traced the illnesses to a single lot from Vallon Farm Direct of India, tying all cases to this source in the traceback.
Michigan and Virginia labs have matched the outbreak strain to patient samples via whole-genome sequencing, reinforcing the link to the recalled products.
State health authorities report laboratory confirmation of the outbreak strain in ill individuals corresponding to the ongoing investigation.
Public guidance emphasizes the typical Salmonella symptoms, the higher risk among young children, older adults, and immunocompromised individuals, and the importance of seeking medical care if symptoms are severe.
Officials advise awareness of symptoms such as fever, diarrhea (potentially bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain appearing 12 to 72 hours after ingestion and lasting several days.
Earlier recall actions from the same supplier prompted Sam’s Club to halt distribution of the associated Members Mark Super Greens moringa powder.
