The Rams have extended quarterback Matthew Stafford for one more year through the end of the 2027 season, with a contract that includes 55 million dollars in base value and up to 5 million in incentives, potentially reaching 105 million over the next two seasons.

Ty Simpson was drafted No. 13 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, but the Rams plan to keep Stafford as the starter while Simpson develops behind him.

Stafford’s extension aims to provide stability for the team and gives him the option to decide on his long-term future after the 2026 season.

Stafford previously indicated at NFL Honors that he would return to a team that reached the NFC Championship this season.

Stafford participated in voluntary offseason workouts, with organized team activities planned and training camp set to begin in July ahead of a Sept. 10 season opener vs. the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.
