The Minnesota Twins designated starting pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson for assignment after a winless season (0-12 in 12 games, 10 starts) during which he allowed 41 earned runs, the most in the majors in losses and ERA attributed runs.

In an attempt to stabilize him, the Twins briefly moved Woods Richardson to the bullpen earlier this month, including two scoreless relief outings, before a rough start against the Chicago White Sox.

The 25-year-old right-hander carried a 0-7 record with a 7.74 ERA, most recently losing to the White Sox 6-2 while yielding five earned runs in 2 1/3 innings.
