NC State general counsel Allison B. Newhart raised concerns about LSU’s potential liability tied to Wade’s sudden departure, the LSU term sheet, and the buyout arrangement.

LSU General Counsel Carlton Jones declined to comment; Wade did not respond to inquiries.

Wade’s previous LSU tenure ended in 2022 amid five level-1 recruiting violations, contributing to his firing.
