National and local corporate donors have pledged about $14 million for tornado relief, including Kimberly-Clark's $10 million over three years and $1 million commitments from Miller Electric Manufacturing, ITW Welding Co., Plexus Corp., Community First Credit Union, and Menasha Corp over one to two years.

The Community Response Fund, led by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region with United Way Fox Cities and Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, has committed at least $1 million for immediate tornado relief, starting with $500,000 in grants to LEAVEN and People of Progression.

The Community Response Fund has raised over $4 million from nearly 800 donors, with more than 4,000 individual donations from corporations, large gifts, and small community contributions.

Past and ongoing funding includes a prior emergency round totaling about $580,050 and $250,000 to Habitat for Humanity’s Tornado Rock the Block 100, with additional funds pledged for ongoing recovery.

Corporate pledges will be divided between immediate needs and longer-term rebuilding, with some gifts directed through the Community Response Fund and others funneled through donor companies’ own foundations.

Nonprofits LEAVEN and People of Progression will coordinate with local groups such as Multicultural Coalition Inc., NEW Hmong Professionals, and Casa Hispana Inc. to process applications and extend reach within the community.

The next relief phase starts September 1, with families able to access funds by proving their primary address to LEAVEN or People of Progression, who will assess needs on an individual basis rather than according to property damage value.
