Since its permanent opening in 2022, Central Alabama Community College’s Prattville campus has experienced substantial growth in enrollment, expanded academic offerings, and increased community investment.

Workforce programs have broadened to include welding, industrial electronics, machining, programmable logic control, integrated manufacturing automation, and industrial automation technology, with nursing apprenticeships and the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education added at the Autauga County Technology Center.

The campus operates Skills for Success, offering more than 80 free, short-term workforce programs.

Athletics are expanding to add tennis, volleyball, cross country, and women’s flag football.

A Center of Excellence is under construction and slated to open in summer 2027, serving as a gateway to Prattville along Interstate 65 and broadening the campus’s role in education and workforce development.

Total capital investment to date stands at $20.2 million, with a planned additional $24.5 million in 2026-27, bringing the overall investment to about $44.7 million by end of 2027.

Academic and workforce offerings include Information Technology programs such as Intel AI courses, cybersecurity, and computer information systems degrees, with Alabama’s first two-year AI and cybersecurity degree programs awaiting approval.

Campus President Jeff Lynn credits the expansion to strong local support and community investment in education.

Healthcare programs have expanded to practical nursing, medical assisting, phlebotomy, and emergency medical services, along with new courses in physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics.

Enrollment at Prattville has surged by 470 percent since opening, and employee salaries have risen from about $300,000 to over $2 million.
