Tim House, president of the Spartan Athletic Foundation, is reportedly set to become the new athletic director at Old Dominion University, with an official announcement anticipated later in the week.

House would be Old Dominion’s next director of athletics, returning to the East Coast talent pool, and his candidacy has been discussed publicly by Pete Thamel.

House has led MSU’s fundraising efforts as head of the Spartan Athletic Foundation and is recognized as Purdue’s top fundraiser in 2025, highlighting a strong nationwide fundraising track record.

His background includes leadership roles at Army, Penn, Duke, Belmont, Vanderbilt, Purdue, and NC State, and he is an NC State graduate.

ODU is pursuing strategic priorities in women’s basketball aiming for an NCAA Tournament return, with prior shifts including the elimination of wrestling in 2020.

ODU, with about 24,000 students, is smaller than MSU’s roughly 52,000; MSU posted a record athletics fundraising year of $736 million while Old Dominion raised over $17.5 million in 2025.

House would succeed Camden Wood Selig, who announced retirement at the end of 2026 after 16 years, while Selig will remain with the university in roles related to sport management education and fundraising.

Under Selig’s tenure, ODU achieved conference championships across sports and milestones in basketball and baseball, including football’s transition from FCS to FBS and into Conference USA, then the Sun Belt in 2022.
