Consumer Reports exposes significant security flaws in Eken and Tuck video doorbells, including unencrypted transmission of sensitive data and vulnerabilities allowing unauthorized access.

The affected doorbells, sold under multiple brands, are connected via the Aiwit app and have been purchased by over 4,200 consumers in January 2024 alone.

Walmart and Temu have pulled the compromised video doorbells from their websites and are offering refunds; however, other major retailers like Amazon, Shein, and Sears have yet to comment.

Consumer Reports urges e-commerce platforms to improve vetting processes for sellers and products and advises consumers to opt for more reliable brands or to evaluate the necessity of video doorbells due to privacy issues.
