Intuitive Machines is set to become the first private company to land on the moon, aligning with NASA's Artemis program.

The company's Nova-C Odysseus probe, with six NASA payloads, has been rescheduled to launch on Thursday at 1:05 a.m. EST due to a prior technical delay.

This mission supports NASA's commercial lunar payload services (CLPS) initiative, which is designed to lay groundwork for future crewed lunar expeditions.

Intuitive Machines is in competition with Astrobotic Technology, which recently experienced a failed lunar landing, and Firefly Aerospace, planning a 2024 lunar mission.

The advancements by other nations in lunar exploration have opened opportunities for private enterprises to contribute to moon landing endeavors.
