Italy is reaffirming its commitment to Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict, with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasizing the nation's support for Ukraine's energy security and reconstruction.

In a significant move, the Italian Cabinet of Ministers has approved a tenth package of military aid for Ukraine, as reported on December 16, 2024.

Looking ahead, Italy plans to allocate €1.7 billion ($1.8 billion) in military aid to Ukraine for 2025, marking an increase from the €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) committed in 2024.

This new package follows nine previous military aid deliveries from Italy, which included anti-aircraft missiles, artillery, armored vehicles, and two SAMP/T air defense systems.

While the specific materials included in the latest aid package remain confidential, this aligns with Italy's previous military aid announcements.

All military equipment supplied by Italy is designated for use exclusively by Ukrainian forces within Ukraine's borders.

The Italian government is also considering the potential deployment of soldiers to Ukraine for a peacekeeping mission, reflecting a cautious approach.

Defense Minister Guido Crosetto has expressed Italy's willingness to participate in such a peacekeeping mission.

In addition to military support, Tajani announced ongoing efforts to organize a second peace conference involving Ukraine and key international partners, including Russia, China, India, and Brazil.

Tajani also highlighted a reconstruction conference set for July 2025 in Rome, aimed at further supporting Ukraine's recovery.

Throughout the conflict, Italy has provided substantial military, economic, and diplomatic aid to Ukraine, reinforcing its position as a key ally.
