Major Drug Syndicate Dismantled in Australia: $60 Million in Drugs Seized, 18 Arrests
November 4, 2025
A cross-jurisdictional police operation in Australia has dismantled a national drug syndicate with alleged international links, targeting activity along both the east and west coasts.
Authorities say the seizures included about 170 kg of pseudoephedrine, 95 kg of methylamphetamine (ice), 21 kg of ketamine, 2 kg of cocaine, 14 firearms, and substantial cash with an estimated street value around $60 million.
Eighteen suspects were arrested and charged after officers seized 268 kg of illicit drugs, more than $2.4 million in cash, firearms, and chemical equipment.
Police describe the operation as having completely dismantled the syndicate, with ongoing court appearances slated for November and December.
Key arrests were carried out across multiple NSW locations—Liverpool, Blacktown, Randwick, Casula, Lurnea—and in Western Australia’s Perth, with activity spanning October into November.
The operation involved NSW Police, WA Police, and the Australian Federal Police, executing 30 search warrants in the final phase.
Strike Force Bloomfield was formed to probe the syndicate’s high-level, organized crime links, coordinating multi-jurisdictional efforts.
Investigators say the group imported drugs by sea cargo concealed in shoes or plastic wares, and then moved them domestically by flights, drug mules on planes, and even via Australia Post.
