The same match saw Premier League officials confirm the stoppage when Semenyo raised the issue of racial abuse, with the referee Anthony Taylor halting play in the 29th minute and ejecting a spectator.

In the aftermath, Semenyo posted a social media message thanking supporters and highlighting the unity of the football community.

He emphasized resilience and unity within football, thanking teammates, Liverpool players, fans, Premier League officials, and supporters across the sport for standing with him.

Mogan was released on bail with conditions prohibiting direct or indirect contact with Semenyo and bans from attending regulated football grounds, among other restrictions.

Bail conditions also include a ban on contacting Semenyo, staying away from regulated football matches in the UK, and maintaining distance from designated stadiums around kick-off times.

Additional terms prohibit Mogan from referencing Semenyo on social media and from attending regulated football grounds.

Mogan appeared at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court, denying racially aggravated disorderly behaviour, with a trial set for 22 April next year, in which Semenyo is expected to attend.

The accused, Mark Mogan, a 47-year-old Liverpool resident, denied the racially aggravated disorderly behaviour allegations involving Semenyo during the Anfield match.

Mogan, 47, pleaded not guilty at the Liverpool Magistrates’ Court to racially aggravated disorderly conduct toward Bournemouth forward Semenyo.

Bournemouth are scheduled to meet Liverpool again in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium next month.
