Spanish police uncovered a multi-level drug-smuggling tunnel beneath an industrial warehouse in Ceuta, designed to move hashish from Morocco into Spain using a rail system and underground cranes.

The tunnel network comprises three levels reaching up to 19 meters underground, described as a mine-like labyrinth hidden behind a large soundproof cooling room.

On the top level there is an access shaft for descent, the middle level stores drug packages, and the bottom level contains a straight tunnel leading to Morocco.

Ceuta and nearby Andalusia were initial seizure sites that prompted investigators to target the broader network.

Over more than a year of police work, raids across multiple locations led to 27 arrests and the seizure of over 17 tons of drugs, plus 1.4 million euros in cash and 17 luxury cars.

A large-scale operation with hundreds of officers yielded major seizures and multiple arrests tied to the smuggling ring.
