Australia will source the EV4 Fastback from Korea and produce the EV4 Hatch in Slovakia for Europe, with launch trims aligned to the EV3’s Air, Earth, and GT-Line and features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging and i-Pedal 3.0 regenerative braking.

WLTP range can reach up to 630 km when equipped with the Long Range battery, and Australian pricing is not yet announced but is expected to be under $50,000, potentially giving Kia an edge over the Tesla Model 3 before on-road costs.

Kia will launch the all-electric EV4 Fastback in Australia in January, coinciding with the company’s sponsorship of the Australian Open.

At launch in Australia, the EV4 will use a single front-mounted motor delivering 150 kW and 283 Nm, with overall dimensions around 4730 mm in length and 1860 mm in width, making it slightly longer than a Tesla Model 3 but narrower with a shorter wheelbase.

In Korea, the EV4 is priced about 500,000 won (A$513) higher than the EV3 at base level, suggesting a similar pricing relationship could apply in Australia.

Manufacturing and freight costs, plus exchange rates, could influence whether an EV4 Hatch comes to Australia, though the Fastback is confirmed for release and a GT performance flagship has been hinted for a Brussels motor show.

The EV4 is a mid-size, non-SUV sedan offered as a five-door Hatch and four-door Fastback in the UK/Europe; Australia will receive the Fastback first, and it sits alongside the EV5 while sharing Hyundai-Kia E-GMP 400V architecture with the EV3.
