Embraer's subsidiary, Eve, unveiled a full-scale prototype of its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) 'flying taxi' at its Gaviao Peixoto plant in Brazil.

The eVTOL, showcased at the Farnborough Air Show, features dedicated rotors for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruising to reduce operational costs and noise.

Eve plans to conduct operational tests and obtain certification for the aircraft.

The company recently secured $94 million in new investments from Embraer and Japan's Nidec, ensuring funding until 2027.

Eve has nearly 3,000 potential orders and investors including United Airlines, BAE Systems, and Rolls-Royce.

Challenges in infrastructure readiness for electric aircraft persist.
