Tesla has launched updated versions of the Model S and Model X in the U.S., featuring significant upgrades and a price increase of $5,000 across all trims.

The Model S all-wheel drive is now priced at $84,990, while the plaid variant is available for $99,990.

Mechanical improvements include better suspension, enhanced cabin insulation, and Active Noise Cancellation, aimed at providing a smoother and quieter ride.

Aesthetic changes include updated bumpers, new aerodynamic wheels, and two new paint options: Frost Blue Metallic and Diamond Black.

New wheel designs have been introduced, such as 19-inch Magnetite wheels and optional 21-inch Velarium wheels, although the larger wheels reduce the range to 380 miles.

Both models now feature dynamic ambient lighting that animates upon entry, enhancing the overall interior experience.

The Model X interior has been redesigned to provide more space, improving comfort for third-row passengers and increasing cargo capacity.

These updates reflect Tesla's strategy to maintain a strong presence in the luxury electric vehicle market while offering premium features.

However, several anticipated features, such as improved range and steer-by-wire technology, are notably absent from these updates.

As of the first quarter of 2025, Tesla reported only 12,881 vehicle deliveries in its 'other models' category, indicating a significant drop in popularity.

Deliveries of the updated Model S and Model X are expected to begin immediately across the U.S.

Despite these updates, sales of the Model S and Model X have declined, with estimates suggesting global sales below 50,000 units in 2024.
