The affected vehicles were produced between 2022 and 2024; a VIN list and the original recall notice are available through linked documents for owners to verify eligibility.
If the charging port door detaches, it could pose serious safety risks to road users and bystanders and may cause property damage or accidents.

Hyundai Motor Company Australia is recalling 1,191 units of the 2022–2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 due to a charging port door that can detach while driving.
Owners can check their closest Hyundai dealer or access the VIN list through recall resources provided by the Australian regulator and Hyundai’s channels.
Hyundai will send written notices to affected owners with instructions to schedule a repair appointment at an authorised Hyundai dealer.
Owners are advised to respond to Hyundai Motor Company Australia’s written notice and arrange repairs with an authorised dealer as soon as possible.
Hyundai says the issue results from misalignment due to poor adhesive application, which can allow the retaining hook to unlatch and the charging port door to detach from the hinge.
This misalignment can cause the charging port door panel to detach from the hinge during operation.
This is the fourth recall for the Ioniq 6, following recalls in December 2024 (battery charging software) and April 2024 (battery software issue and driveshaft recall).
