Ford unveils the Dark Horse SC, a US-market variant of the Mustang powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 derived from the Mustang GTD, delivering 608 kW and 900 Nm with a seven-speed dual-clutch.

The SC uses race-derived tech from Mustang GT3 and GTD programs to achieve substantial performance gains, including a chassis and aero focus.

Positioned to expand the Dark Horse line, the Dark Horse SC targets thrill-seekers and younger buyers, effectively replacing the Shelby GT500 in this lineup.

Cosmetic options include a Teal Accent Package and a Carbon Exterior Package, while a Track Pack Special Edition combines these cosmetics with exclusive color and trim choices.

Inside, the cabin is described as upscale with available Recaro seats, though full driving impressions are awaited.

Standard upgrades feature MagneRide adaptive damping, upgraded chassis components, a magnesium strut tower brace, Brembo brakes with 20-inch wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires, plus enhanced front fascia and bonnet cooling and aerodynamics.

Pricing guidance places the Dark Horse SC between $70,000 and $300,000, with official figures arriving before summer release.

Track Pack adds 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, MagneRide calibration, and carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes, while losing the rear seats for a storage shelf and reducing mass by about 68 kg.

Track Pack also brings weight reduction of roughly 150 pounds, carbon-fiber aero elements, rear downforce improvements, and high-speed handling enhancements.

Ford emphasizes GT3-derived components and track-focused tuning as part of a strategy to compete with Europe’s premium sports cars.

Endurance and cooling upgrades define the SC, with design tweaks like larger hood vents, refined grille airflow, and a more efficient rear wing for downforce and stability.
