Tesla CEO Elon Musk has slated the new Tesla Roadster for a 2025 customer release.

The upcoming Roadster, a joint effort between Tesla and SpaceX, is touted to surpass the performance of conventional gas sports cars.

An optional SpaceX package will include rocket thrusters to enhance the vehicle's acceleration, speed, braking, and handling capabilities.

Despite the announcement, there are doubts about Tesla's capacity to fulfill such advanced technological commitments.

Interested customers can make reservations for the new Roadster with a $50,000 deposit.

The first-generation Roadster, launched in 2008, was a pioneering electric vehicle, and the second-generation was initially announced in 2017 with ambitious performance goals.

Ongoing production delays have pushed back the second-generation Roadster's launch to 2025, implying a possible increase in its price.

Tesla's stock has seen a decline of 18% in value over the current year.
